I’ve been toying with the idea of chronicling our adventures around the globe for a while now but laziness and my lack of confidence in my wordsmith skills have deterred me in the past. Today while reading my friend Wai’s travel blog, I got inspired. 

The “us” is comprised of my husband Fausto and I.  We are both actuaries. We’ve been married almost 5 years and traveling together longer than that. This blog will be a place for Fausto and I to share anecdotes about our exploits at home or abroad. At the very least, it’ll serve as a diary to record our adventures for posterity.

Normally, I am more of an “I” than a “we” kinda person, but since this will be a joint venture, you’ll see a lot of posts from both our point of views.  We will be writing about different things. His interests mainly lean towards tech, gadgets, and maximizing airline miles and points. The airline points game is often convoluted and confusing and not something I want to venture into, but I am the beneficiary of his dedication. My interest is photography. Photography serves as my creative outlet and let me express my point of view and at the same time capture the beauty that I see around me.

And now to end my first post with a cheesy quote, “the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” – Lao Tzu. I love quotes, and this one especially resonate with me.  It’s challenging to take that first step to try something new.  Hopefully this will be the first of many posts.
