Thor’s well, gateway to the underworld, the name alone conjures up an image of a mythical place. It is a 20 feet deep salt-water fountain located on the Oregon coast, about 3 hours from Portland, Oregon. This force of nature is best seen during high tides when the waves come crashing in and filling up the hole. When it’s full, the water sprouts up and then gets sucked back in again. I’ll have to put this on the list of places I want to visit when I am on the West Coast.
